Postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology, Minnesota Epilepsy Group with inpatient consultation at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota: The Minnesota Epilepsy Group invites applications for a one-year, with an option for a second year, Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology beginning August/September of 2014. Minnesota Epilepsy Group PA is a multidisciplinary clinic serving patients with neurological and psychological disorders including epilepsy, brain tumors, chronic headaches, conversion disorders as well as adjustment to chronic illness. The successful candidate would join a team of 6 psychologists representing specialties in pediatric and adult clinical psychology and pediatric and adult neuropsychology who work collaboratively with neurologists/ epileptologists to provide inpatient and outpatient services to epilepsy patients and their families.

The position will provide supervised clinical training in pediatric consultation/liaison service, psychotherapy, and assessment. Primary clinical rotations include the Inpatient Consultation/Liaison Service on the Neurosciences unit at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, St. Paul, and Minnesota Epilepsy Group outpatient clinic. Elective rotations in brief neuropsychological assessment are also available. Participation in clinical research is an expectation of the fellowship and protected time to pursue research interests will be provided. The fellow will be provided with a range of didactic experiences to prepare the fellow for transitioning into a professional role as a psychologist.

We are seeking candidates who have had a clinical concentration in child/adolescent treatment and assessment and who have had some experience treating patients with chronic medical illness. Applicants with practical experience in a hospital setting and work specifically with children suffering neurological impairment are encouraged to apply, but this is not a requirement of the position. This position requires a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program and successful completion of an APA accredited internship.
